Drawing Tips

Do you have any tips you can share that might help others improve their drawing skills?  Is there something you have learned that allowed you to improve your own drawings dramatically?  Here's one piece of advice that might help beginners: Always start your drawing by sketching in the largest, most basic shapes first.  Only after checking the proportions and basic placement should you begin to break down objects into their  smaller shapes and details.  And draw lightly at first!  You will make mistakes! If the first lines are drawn lightly, it will be much easier to make changes when necessary.
